After working with the Seattle Organizing Experts in her home, Ms. Poole came to me with hopes of making some organizational changes in her classroom. Currently, she teaches in a half-portable classroom; and like many teachers she struggles to use the limited space effectively. With 27 students in her class, there is no doubt that clutter can pile up easily. Clutter which makes planning lessons and maintaining resources more challenging. It is truly evident how much Ms. Poole cares for her students, and I am excited at the opportunity to create a unique and beautiful learning environment for them.

According to the Washington Education Association, Washington has the fourth most over-crowded classrooms in America. I believe that by providing Ms. Poole with an organized and clutter-free classroom it will make a huge impact on how students feel and learn when they are in her class. All students deserve a classroom that fosters leaning and provides a safe and calm environment. It is my hope to help Stephanie finish this school year strong!

This classroom makeover will take place on May 4th and 5th at Schmitz Park Elementary. It is the first stage of our Happy Classrooms Project launch. SOE hopes to help teachers in the future and upcoming school year by holding a supply drive for organizational materials to help teachers build beautiful classrooms for young minds! Be on the lookout for more information on our website and social media pages. We will be filming a commercial for this project also.

If you would like to get involved and donate materials to this project, we have created a wish-list of items that will help this classroom get organized!

  • Bins for books
  • Accordion files for curriculum materials
  • Blue or green curtains (We are going for an ocean theme!)
  • Décor that would incorporate an ocean/environmental/nature theme
  • A bookshelf (preferably something with doors)

If you happen to have these items in your home and have been meaning to donate them anyways, they would be a huge help to this makeover!

If you would like to get involved with this project by donating items or would like to know more, please email
